Good morning White Family. I seen part of Tyler’s story on TV last night while I was rocking my 4 1/2 month old son to sleep. I just wanted to say that I admire the love that Tyler has from his parents both mom and dad and I believe that with the help of Tyler’s “GOD CHOSEN PARENTS”, Tyler is going to be a huge inspiration to the world. I am not sure if you have ever heard of Nick Vujicic, but his story of how his cards were dealt to him is inspiring, motivating and a true blessing to all. Check it out if you’d like: http://www.lifewithoutlimbs.org/

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!! Feel free to email me.

From all of us here at the school, we want to extend our best wishes and thoughts to Tyler and your family for a speedy and full recovery. We were devastated to hear the news, but anyone who has met Tyler knows that he is a mighty little warrior who will no doubt endure this.
We miss him terribly around here…the halls are not as cheerful without his big smile and endless enthusiasm…his friends, teachers, and many others have been asking after him and are anticipating his return.
You are in our thoughts and prayers. If there is anything you need, please don’t hesitate to call. Please keep us updated.

    Sincerely,

I just saw your story on TLC. I have always loved watching specials on primordial dwarfism, it really interests me. I was familiar with the other kids on the show, but when I saw Tyler, I squealed out loud and shouted, “Oh my god, he is the cutest little boy I have ever seen!!!” I think it is very brave of your family to get your story out there (on tv, etc) and educate people about this topic. I wish I could meet Tyler someday, but seeing as how I live in the US, I doubt that will happen. I just wanted to tell you how sweet and cute Tyler seems, you are very blessed. I wish you the best of luck, and god bless you!

Hi, my name is Angel, and I’m 19 years old. I found your website while I was working on my Biology assignment for school, and I must tell you how happy I am to have found it. Not only did your website and Tyler gave me a very insightful view on what dwarfism is and how a person with this special gift lives, but your family also further inspired me to become a Social Worker. Although I have always wanted to study to become a Social Worker, it wasn’t until I learned of this condition did it became clear to me what the main reason is to be a Social Worker.
Furthermore, your website also allowed me to come in contact with many other special people like Taylor Marcello. I saw her in your pictures at the Seattle Conference, and am really glad that although geographically far apart, your hearts will always be together.

I truly wish Tyler and the White Family best wishes and happiness always. Which I’m sure is not going to be a problem, with Tyler’s handsome eyes and beautiful smiles.

    Cheers,
    Angel =D

I saw the programme with you guys in and was really touched by your story. I was disgusted with the child who was nasty to Tyler and was left in tears. I am so glad that you have made contact with other people with the same condition as I really felt for you when you said that you felt all alone. I have recently been diagnosed with MS and, although nowhere near the same, that feeling of being alone and desparation has been far harder to deal with than the mobility/memory issues I am facing. You have an adorable little boy with a wonderful personality and you should be very proud - you are all an inspiration to many people.

    Hey Family,
Well I ws doing a profect on dwarfism because that is one thing I am very interested in, and I found Tyler. He looked very familiar and I remembered that I had seen him on tv! I was watchin the show just a couple of weeks ago and I looked at him and told my whole family to come and see him; he was the cutest little one I have ever seen! He looks like a very special child. The way your story is told is wonderful, and it is very nice to see that it is put in a way that the world can read it. He seems like an Angel and i bet he is one! Hearing his story about how his personality and things he likes are very similar to mine. I love HORSES. They are absolutely my favorite animal. To bad my parents won’t buy me one.And my favortie color is red. What a coincidence! The pictures of Tyler are adorable. I have never seen such a wonderful handsome child and Tyler. God Bless You Tyler.I hope he grows happy and healthy as everyone else in this world should be. Send you the best of wishes.Take Care.I’m praying for you.

I have just had the honour of reading about Tyler in Pick me Up magazine, while I am Australian I have Pick Me Up sent every week. Tyler is a small soul with a big heart and I really can not believe there are people out there that can not understand “DIFFERENT” does not spell “FREAK”………..I tell my 5 children that if they looked up the word “DIFFERENT” in the dictionary they would find it in actual fact means “SPECIAL”, to Tyler’s parents I just want to say to keep doing what your doing “BEING GOOD PARENTS” you have a lovely lively boy.

Enjoy being a big brother soon Tyler.

    Hi,
I saw your story on T.V the other night and it was really heart touching. As I was watching I tried to understand more about dwarfism and how it affects one life. To my understanding it must be hard for your family.

Well I was so inspired by your story and others, that I have decided to better aware, and try to involve my community (school, job, churches, etc…). I am trying to start up a mini fashion business, and instead of keeping my earnings, I am going to personally donate them to families who suffer from dwarfism.

THANKS for the inspiration and may GOD BLESS YOU!

People often refer to those who suffer with primordial dwarfism as “the cutest thing alive,” or “an angel,” and “miracle baby: a gift from god.” Perhaps, in some twisted way, these terms are somewhat correct, but there is no real need to use these pet names when referring to people. Tyler is a beautiful baby, and so in that sense, yes, he is cute, but he is not a “thing,” and i find it astounding how so many people believe that this is a compliment. Tyler is meant to be here, he defied what all of the doctors declared. He may seem like a miracle baby, but i strongly believe he is here at his own will, and the will of his parents, who had faith in him throughout his development. Tyler shouldn’t be called a “cute little thing,” he should be told he is an amazing boy, exceeding all minimal expectations. He should be pushed to do his best, to achieve his goals. He should be treated like a normal human being. People who are illiterate enough to call him a thing, an inanimate object should learn to think before they speak.
I wish Tyler and his family all the best, wherever their lives may take them.
I wish the family an abundance of luck for having to deal with the struggles of dealing with the symptoms of raising a child diagnosed with primordial dwarfism.
Lastly, I wish all the best to Tyler, because with enough perseverance, he can attain anything he wishes.

I read your story in Pick Me Up, and I couldn’t believe how horrible some people could be. Its what is on the inside that’s important! Tyler is a sweet loving little boy, why can’t people see that instead of his height?
Best wishes for the future Tyler! :)

    Hi Tyler,

I just watched worlds smallest kids on the discovery channel, and saw your story, it moved me to tears, not because of the challenges you face with everyday life, but because of the ignorant morons who would point at you and talk about you when you were out in public, if I saw that kind of thing going on, I couldn’t stop myself from putting my hands on them to let them see how it feels, im a very big guy at 6ft 3 and 252 lbs, I am a bodybuilder you see and would like to see how they could handle it if I picked them off the floor and humiliated them, im sorry but it really upset me to see how people treated you, you may feel upset when they point, but they are the ones who should be upset and ashamed at their own ignorance and stupidity, such is their punishment and this is the worst punishment a person can have.

I was amazed by your outstanding intelligence, in my opinion the mind is the most important thing we humans possess, we should all strive to actualise our full human potential, and the best way to do this is by advancing our intelligence as human beings.

I would like to tell you, I was in a near fatal accident when I was 19, im 27 now, I spent 2 months in a coma and suffered massive internal injuries, I was riding a motorcycle you see and a car pulled out on me, I hit the car and was thrown shoulder first into a concrete lamp post, all the doctors told my parents that it doesn’t look good and basically they didn’t think I would pull through, doctors are not infallible as I have proven myself on so many occasions, I also damaged my c5/c6 nerves in the accident, the c5 nerve innervates (means nerve supply to a body part) many muscles, deltoid, infra and supra spinatus, rhomboids, teres major and minor, basically all the muscles of the shoulder and scapula (shoulder blade), c6 innervates biceps and the fore arm muscles, I was told I would regain no useful function of the effected limb, I regained every single muscle except the deltoid and I have full strength to the muscles I regained, they told me I would never be able to lift weights again, they got that wrong! What I am saying is doctors are very apt at misjudging the power of the human spirit and the human will, I have come through the impossible, I thought I was strong, but compared to you I feel weak, as for your condition, I would recommend you research it for yourself in your own time, but first you must build your learning framework, once you manage this, you will find you can learn anything you set your mind to, the books I recomenned are a good start, again you can do so in your leasure if you wish, I learned about the peripheral nervous system, because I knew the ‘experts’ were not correct in everything they were telling me, so I needed to learn for myself and to my astonishment I discovered that the ligaments of my acromioclavicular joint were ossified (gone to bone) and the whole joint was not capable of movement because the very joint was damaged also, I tried to get the joint repaired but no surgeon would help me, because my previous surgeon was very eminent and the other surgeons didn’t want to take me on, they didn’t like the fact that in such a short period of time, I had learnt so much about my condition and was directing them with my treatment, lol, i also suffered secondary hypoxic brain damage, but curiously this made me far more determined in everything, especially to learn, therefore it allowed me to become far more intelligent, yet when i was in ICU, i couldnt speak, write or even recognise my parents.

To be honest I dont like many doctors, I find the more eminent they are the more obtuse they become.

I would like to recommend you some literature if I may, they are two of my favourite books, The fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged both by Ayn Rand, to learn more about the philosophy of objectivism, you can visit www.aynrand.org

Please never forget that you are a very special person, and I believe you have a great potential for intellectual advancement, as you are a very bright young woman.

Please take care Tyler, we wish you all the best.

    Paul and Kate.

Tyler is a gorgeous kid. My compliments to the lineage. ;-)

I’ve noticed that Achodroplastic Dwarfism, Primordial Dwarfism, and whatever it is that makes me (a 17 1/2-year-old, 6′ 4″ tall female who’s STILL growing, apparently) so darn TALL is becoming more common. “Normal” genes are starting to abstract. People like Tyler and myself are becoming more common as years go by.

But anywho, best wishes to you and Tyler. May he always find love, no matter where he goes.

    Love,

after reading your story i was crying especially the bit at the end where he says ‘ share with baby’ the elmo, that is just adorable, i dont have kids so i couldnt possibly know what your going through but tyler must be an amazing character and you must be blessed to have such an incredible beautiful little boy. its sad that people stare at him, and even make comments, a child is a child no matter how they look in my eyes, apperences dont matter!
nicola congratulations to you and marv on your pregnancy, i bet tyler is excited to have a sister! anyway i just had to tell you that your son is amazing, good luck in everything he does in life, and good luck with the new baby when she arrives.

Ive just read your story in Pick Me Up, Tylers 100% Cutie & you’re so lucky to have him, I’ve had ovarians cysts too, my last one was 9.5cm’s, I’ve had both my fallopian tubes removed because of them & have been told that I could only have children if I have IVF but I was told that they don’t consider IVF past the age of 36. I’m 37 now & I’ve resigned myself to never having a child of my own.
So, Tylers perfect no matter what condition he’s got & I hope he lives a long & happy life, congratulations on your second pregnancy too, I’m thrilled to bits for you :D

Tyler is truely one of Gods little miracles. I admire your strength so much. I don’t know yet if I am able to have children, due to medical issues, but I definately know that I would love to adopt a child with dwarfism. I grew up with having to constantly go to doctors and try new medications and I saw how tough it was on my parents, but they never let me give up. Now that I have gotten older it is my life goal to adopt a child and give them a wonderful life. I wish your family the best of luck and God Bless everyone who has one of these beautiful children in their lives.

Wow! What a story to read! Kisses to sweet Tyler and to his parents too!!

About the horses… if you ever find yourself near Langley BC there is a riding association there that specifically caters to riding horses for physical therapy and deals mostly with people with challenges. I wonder if they might be able to help out with a ride for Tyler (since the horses would be used to being gentle etc). Or maybe finding out who they are, and if they could find a place closer to you!? I mean heck, Calgary has a few horses… right!? :)

I read about you through Journal Modiste! :)

What a touching website, it has brought many tears to my eyes.

It has been lovely to hear all about Tyler’s life, since you moved to Canada, as I often wondered how he was real getting on.

It is great to see so many photo’s of Tyler, there is so much I have missed. He is soooo adorable!!!!

Reading your story has brought back so many memories of our friendship and Tyler as a baby.

I remember the day you found out that you were pregnant, you had been so poorly and I remember visiting you only a week or so before in hospital, when the chance of you and Marv being a Mummy and Daddy was almost impossible. It was clearly meant to be as you make brilliant parents and he is a true miracle.

The day we saw Tyler in hospital, I remeber how small he was and I remember crying when I returned to the car, hoping and praying he would pull through. He is such a Special Boy

I feel so privileged to have met you all in person and had the chance to beome friends before you moved. We hope to see you all again one day and in the meantime keep in touch.

    Lots of Love

Your story is so moving. Parenting any child is no small feat and when you have a child with complex health and wellness issues you need an entirely new skill set! I am the author of a book titled Your Child’s Health & Wellness Record and the companion Document Organizer. This is a health journal that is suitable for children who are developing typically and those who have complex health issues. As an RN, BScN, photographer and mother of three I know how challenging it can be to keep health information organized. I also know that children who have parents that are organized, informed and comfortable advocating for them receive better health care.

I will send you a copy of these. I hope you find them helpful and that the information in them guides you in your journey. Go to my website for more information (www.healthandwellnessrecord.com). Best of luck to you all!
